What Is Flexible Silicone LED Strip?
Flexible silicone LED strip is a premium waterproof strip light where the entire LED assembly — PCB, chips, and solder joints — is fully encapsulated inside a solid silicone housing. Unlike IP65 strips that only have a thin silicone coating on the front surface, our silicone strips are molded inside a continuous silicone sleeve, giving true IP68 protection against water immersion, UV exposure, salt spray, and chemical contact.
This construction makes silicone LED strips the correct choice for any installation where moisture, weather, or physical contact with water is expected. Typical applications include swimming pool lighting, fountain decoration, marine and boat lighting, outdoor architectural facades, wet room installations, and industrial environments where standard waterproof strips would eventually fail.

Why Choose IP68 Silicone Over IP65 Coated Strips?
IP65 strips use a thin silicone coating applied over the front of the PCB — this provides adequate protection against rain and splashing but fails under continuous water contact, UV exposure over years, or mechanical abrasion. IP68 silicone strips have the LED assembly molded inside a continuous silicone sleeve several millimeters thick, which is permanently bonded to the PCB. This construction resists UV yellowing for 5+ years, handles continuous underwater use, and survives physical impact that would crack a coated strip.

Yes — all our silicone LED strip models are IP68 rated and tested for continuous water immersion. They are safe for swimming pool, fountain, and marine applications. However, DC12/24V models are strongly recommended for any installation where people may contact the water, because low-voltage DC eliminates electrical shock risk. AC220V silicone strips should only be used in inaccessible locations or behind additional waterproof barriers.
Traditional waterproof strips require field technicians to solder wires onto cut ends and reseal them with silicone — this is slow, error-prone, and the failure point for most IP68 installations. Our solder-free silicone strip uses a clip-on connector system that technicians can install with basic tools in under a minute, with no soldering and no risk of damaging the silicone housing. For large projects with many cut points, this can save days of labor.
IP65 protects against water jets from any direction — fine for covered outdoor areas. IP67 protects against temporary immersion up to 1m depth for 30 minutes — suitable for rain exposure and occasional flooding. IP68 protects against continuous immersion at specified depth — the only rating appropriate for permanent underwater use. For any installation where the strip will regularly contact water, IP68 silicone is the only reliable choice.
Our silicone-encapsulated strips are rated for 50,000+ hours of LED operational life. In moderate climates, the silicone housing maintains its clarity for 5+ years of continuous outdoor exposure. In extreme UV environments (Middle East, tropical regions), some gradual yellowing may become visible after 3-5 years — this is normal silicone aging and does not affect the LED function, but the light output may shift slightly.
Yes — our silicone strips have clearly marked cutting points every 25mm (DC models) or 1m (AC models). After cutting, the exposed end must be sealed with a dedicated silicone end-cap and waterproof glue to maintain IP68 rating. The solder-free model includes snap-on end caps that don't require glue. Always test the seal before final installation in underwater applications.
Standard MOQ is 3,000 meters per model. For OEM orders with custom branding, custom end-caps, and retail packaging, the MOQ is 5,000 meters per specification. Sample orders under MOQ are available with a sample fee that is refundable against future bulk orders.
