SMD (Surface-Mounted Device) LED strip is the most widely used type of flexible LED strip lighting worldwide. Individual LED chips — typically 2835, 5050, 2110, or 335 packages — are surface-mounted along a flexible PCB, delivering high brightness, reliable performance, and cost-effective linear lighting for virtually every application.
Our SMD range covers densities from 60 to 240 LEDs per meter, with chip sizes from the ultra-compact 2110 (2.1×1.0mm) for slim profiles, to the high-output 5050 (5.0×5.0mm) for high-brightness demands. CRI options include RA80 standard, RA90 for commercial lighting, and RA95 for color-critical retail and museum installations.

IP ratings span IP20 (bare) through IP65 (silicone coating) to IP68 (silicone tube) for underwater and outdoor installations.

The numbers refer to chip dimensions in millimeters. 2835 (2.8×3.5mm) is the most common — balanced brightness and cost. 5050 (5.0×5.0mm) delivers higher lumens and is used for RGB and high-output strips. 2110 (2.1×1.0mm) is an ultra-small chip enabling high-density strips up to 700 LED/m in narrow 4mm PCB. 335 is a side-emitting chip for edge-lighting applications like signs and kickboards.
Choose SMD for general lighting, signage, cove lighting behind diffusers, and any project where budget is a priority — SMD is typically 20-40% lower cost than COB. Choose COB when visible LED dots are unacceptable, such as retail displays, museum lighting, or high-end hotel cove applications where the light source is exposed.
For covered outdoor areas (eaves, under awnings), IP65 silicone-coated strips are sufficient. For direct rain exposure, use IP67 silicone tube models. For continuous underwater installation (pools, fountains), only IP68 silicone-encapsulated strips should be used. AC220V strips are generally recommended for outdoor runs longer than 20 meters.
DC 24V strips experience less voltage drop over long runs — you can install up to 10 meters continuously without significant brightness loss. DC 12V strips are limited to around 5 meters per run before voltage drop becomes visible. 24V is recommended for commercial projects and longer installations; 12V remains popular for short residential runs and applications where 12V drivers are already available.
The minimum order quantity is 3,000 meters per model for standard SMD products. For OEM orders with custom branding, private labeling, and retail packaging, the MOQ is 5,000 meters per specification.
